حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ قَالَ كُنَّا نَتَدَارَأُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ قَوْمُنَا إِنَّهُ يَشُقُّ عَلَيْنَا
أَنْ نَنْزِلَ بِعِيَالِنَا وَنِسَائِنَا وَإِنَّا لَنَخْشَى عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّيْعَةَ إِنْ نَزَلْنَا وَتَرَكْنَاهُمْ وَإِنَّا نَكْرَهُ أَنْ تَفُوتَنَا هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةُ فَهَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْ نُرْسِلَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَيَذْكُرُ هَذَا لَهُ وَيَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يَأْمُرَنَا بِلَيْلَةٍ نَنْزِلُهَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَأَرْسَلُونِي وَكُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُهُمْ فَجِئْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ يَأْمُرَنَا بِلَيْلَةٍ نَنْزِلُهَا فَقَالَ «انْزِلُوا لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ» فَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَنْزِلُ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ رَجَعَ

✧ That we should descend with our families and women, and we fear for them neglect if we descend and leave them, and we dislike that this night should pass us by. Would you then send to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mention this to him and ask him to command us to a night we should descend to? Abdullah said: So they sent me, and I used to talk with them, so I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mentioned that to him and asked him to command us to a night we should descend to. He said: "Descend on the night of the twenty-third." So Abdullah used to descend on that night, and when morning came he returned.
