حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ ثنا مَعْمَرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ قَالَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي حُثَالَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَرِجَتْ عُهُودُهُمْ وَمَرِجَتْ أَمَانَاتُهُمْ وَاخْتَلَفَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ» وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ قَالَ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِمَا تَعْرِفُ وَدَعْ مَا تُنْكِرُ وَعَلَيْكَ بِخُوَيْصَّةِ نَفْسِكَ وَإِيَّاكَ وَعَوَامَّهُمْ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How will you be when you remain among the dregs of people whose covenants have become corrupted, whose trusts have become corrupted, and whose hearts have differed?"—and he interlaced his fingers. He said, "What should I do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Keep to what you know and leave what you reject, keep to the special affairs of your own self, and beware of their common people."
