حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ النِّيلِيِّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو «كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي حُثَالَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَرِجَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَمَانَاتُهُمْ وَاخْتَلَفَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ» وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ قَالَ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِمَا تَعْرِفُ وَدَعْ مَا تُنْكِرُ وَعَلَيْكَ بِخُوَيْصَّةِ نَفْسِكَ وَإِيَّاكَ وَعَوَامَّهُمْ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abdullah b. Amr: "How will you be when you remain among the dregs of people whose hearts and trusts have become corrupted, and whose hearts have differed?"—and he interlaced his fingers. He said, "What should I do?" He said, "Keep to what you know and leave what you reject, keep to the special affairs of your own self, and beware of their common people."
