حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْحَجَبِيُّ ثنا حَزْمُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ يَقُولُ

«لَأَنْ أَخِرَّ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَأَنْقَطِعَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَكُونَ شَرِكْتُ فِي دَمِ عُثْمَانَ ؓ»
