حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزِّيَادِيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ قَدِمُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ كُفَّارُ مُضَرَ وَإِنَّا لَا نَصِلُ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا فِي شَهْرٍ حَرَامٍ فَمُرْنَا بِمَا يَحِلُّ لَنَا مِمَّا يَحْرُمُ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ «آمُرُكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ آمُرُكُمْ بِشَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ وَأَنْ تُعْطُوا الْخُمُسَ مِمَّا غَنِمْتُمْ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ»

✧ The delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of Allah, between us and you are the disbelievers of Mudar, and we cannot reach you except in a sacred month. So command us with what is lawful for us and what is forbidden to us.” He said: “I command you with one matter and forbid you from four. I command you with the testimony that there is no god but Allah, the establishment of prayer, the giving of zakah, fasting Ramadan, and that you give one-fifth of what you take as spoils. And I forbid you from the dubba’, the hantam, the naqir, and the muzaffat.”
