حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَنْبَرٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ثنا أَبِي ثنا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ كُفَّارُ مُضَرَ وَإِنَّا لَا نَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ نَأْتِيَكَ كُلَّمَا شِئْنَا فَأَنْبِئْنَا مَا يَحِلُّ لَنَا مِمَّا يَحْرُمُ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ آمُرُكُمْ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ أَنْ تُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَتَصُومُوا رَمَضَانَ وَتُعْطُوا الْخُمُسَ مِنَ الْغَنَائِمِ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ

✧ The delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of Allah, between us and you are the disbelievers of Mudar, and we cannot come to you whenever we wish. So inform us of what is lawful for us and what is forbidden to us.” He said: “I command you with four things and forbid you from four: that you establish prayer, give zakah, fast Ramadan, and give one-fifth of the spoils. And I forbid you from the dubba’, the hantam, the naqir, and the muzaffat.”
