حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَكَّةُ حَرَمُ اللهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ لَا يُخْتَلَى خَلَاهَا وَلَا يُعْضَدُ شَجَرُهَا وَلَا يُخَافُ وَحْشُهَا» قَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ فَإِنَّهُ لِقَيْنِنَا وَلِظُهُورِ بُيُوتِنَا قَالَ «إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Makkah is the sacred sanctuary of God: its fresh herbage is not to be cut, its trees are not to be felled, and its game is not to be startled." Al-ʿAbbas said, "O Messenger of God, except idhkhir, for it is for our blacksmiths and for the roofs of our houses." He said, "Except idhkhir."
