حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي جَنَابٍ الْكَلْبِيِّ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يَبْلُغُ حَجَّ بَيْتِ اللهِ الْحَرَامِ فَلَمْ يَحُجَّ وَمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ يَبْلُغُ الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يُزَكِّهِ سَأَلَ الرَّجْعَةَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ» فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ اتَّقِ اللهَ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّمَا يَسْأَلُ الْكَافِرُ الرَّجْعَةَ فَقَالَ «أَنَا اقْرَأُ بِهِ عَلَيْكَ قُرْآنًا {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَا أَخَّرْتَنِي إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ} »

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever has enough to reach the Sacred House of Allah for Hajj but does not perform Hajj, and whoever has wealth that reaches the threshold of zakah but does not pay it, will ask to be sent back at the time of death.' A man said to him: 'Fear Allah, O Abu Abbas! Only the disbeliever asks to be sent back!' He said: 'I will recite to you the Qur'an: {O you who believe, spend from what We have provided you before death comes to one of you and he says: My Lord, if only You would delay me for a short while}.'
