حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا مُطَهَّرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ
أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا ثُمَّ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى قَالَ وَأَنَّى لَهُ التَّوْبَةُ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّكُمْ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَقْرَبَ الْخَلَائِقِ مِنْ عَرْشِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُؤْمِنُ الَّذِي قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا رَأْسُهُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَقَاتِلُهُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَأَوْدَاجُهُ يَشْخَبُ يَقُولُ رَبِّ سَلْ هَذَا فِيمَ قَتَلَنِي؟ فِيمَ حَالَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ؟

✧ Do you see one who killed a believer deliberately, then repented, believed, and did righteous deeds, then was guided? He said: And how can repentance be his, when I heard your Prophet ﷺ say: The closest of creation to the Throne of the Merciful on the Day of Resurrection will be the believer who was killed unjustly, his head on his right and his killer on his left, and his jugular veins gushing blood, saying: My Lord, ask this one why he killed me? Why did he come between me and the prayer?
