حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
مَا رَأَيْتُ قَوْمًا كَانُوا خَيْرًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا سَأَلُوهُ إِلَّا عَنْ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ مَسْأَلَةً حَتَّى قُبِضَ كُلُّهُنَّ فِي الْقُرْآنِ مِنْهُنَّ {يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ} وَ {يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ} {وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْيَتَامَى} {وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ} وَ {يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْأَنْفَالِ} {وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنْفِقُونَ} مَا كَانُوا يَسْأَلُونَ إِلَّا عَمَّا يَنْفَعُهُمْ قَالَ «وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَإِنَّ مَا بَيْنَ الْحَجَرِ إِلَى الرُّكْنِ الْيَمَانِي لقُبُورًا مِنْ قُبُورِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ إِذَا آذَاهُ قَوْمُهُ خَرَجَ هُوَ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَظْهُرِهِمْ فَعَبَدَ اللهَ فِيهَا حَتَّى يَمُوتَ»

✧ I have not seen a people better than the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They did not ask him except about thirteen matters until he passed away, all of them in the Qur'an. Among them: {They ask you about the sacred month}, {They ask you about wine and gambling}, {They ask you about orphans}, {They ask you about menstruation}, {They ask you about the spoils of war}, {They ask you what they should spend}. They would not ask except about what benefited them. He said: The first to circumambulate the House were the angels. Between the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner are graves of the prophets. When his people harmed him, a prophet would leave from among them and worship Allah in that place until he died.
