حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ لِأُمِّ الْأَسْوَدِ فَأَخْبَرَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ {قُلْ لَا أَجِدُ فِيمَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ وَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ تَأْكُلُونَهُ فَبَعَثَتْ إِلَيْهَا فَسَلَخَتْها» قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَجَعَلُوا مَسْكَهَا قِرْبَةً رَأَيْتُهَا بَعْدَ سَنَةٍ قَالَ أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ أُمُّ ألاسودِ وَإِنَّمَا الصَّوَابُ سَوْدَةُ

✧ A sheep belonging to Umm al-Aswad died, and she informed the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: {Say, ‘I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to one who eats it, unless it is carrion, or blood’} up to the end of the verse, and he said: “You are not going to eat it.” So she sent for it and skinned it. Ibn ʿAbbas said: They made its hide into a water skin, and I saw it after a year. Abu al-Ahwas said: “Umm al-Aswad” is a mistake; the correct is Sawdah.
