✧ I heard Ibn ʿAbbas say: The Messenger of God ﷺ delayed the night prayer one night until people slept and woke, and slept and woke. Then ʿUmar b. al-Khattab stood and said, ‘The prayer.’ The Messenger of God ﷺ came out with water dripping from his head and said: “Were it not that it would be difficult for my community, I would have commanded them to pray it at this time.”
