حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ {قُلْ لِمَنْ فِي أَيْدِيكُمْ مِنَ الْأَسْرَى} حَتَّى بَلَغَ {أُخِذَ مِنْكُمْ} قَالَ
كَانَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَقُولُ «فِيَّ وَاللهِ أُنْزِلَتْ حِينَ أَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ إِسْلَامِي وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ يُحاسِبَني بِالْعِشْرِينَ أُوقِيَّةً الَّتِي وَجَدَ مَعِي فَأَبَى أَنْ يُحاسِبَني بِهَا فَأَعْطَانِي اللهُ بِالْعِشْرِينَ أُوقِيَّةً عِشْرِينَ عَبْدًا كُلُّهُمْ تَاجَرَ بِمَالِي فِي يَدِهِ مَعَ مَا أَرْجُو مِنْ مَغْفِرَةِ اللهِ»

✧ Al-Abbas used to say: "By God, it was revealed concerning me when I told the Messenger of God ﷺ about my Islam and asked him to settle with me for the twenty uqiyyas that were found with me, but he refused to settle with me for them. So God gave me for the twenty uqiyyas twenty slaves, all of whom traded with my wealth in their hands, along with what I hope for of God's forgiveness."
