حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ هَذَا الْحَرْفَ {مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ} قَالَ «كَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَهْجُرونَ رَسُولَ اللهِ فِي شِعْرِهِمْ»
Translation

✧ He used to recite this variant: “{Mustakbirīna bihi sāmiran tahjurūn}.” He said: “The polytheists used to satirize the Messenger of Allah in their poetry.”
