حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَمَلَتْ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ فِي الشِّعْبِ فَقَالَ
رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تُبَيِّضَ وُجُوهَنَا بِغُلَامٍ» فَوَلَدَتْ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “I hope that Allah will brighten our faces with a boy,” and she gave birth to ʿAbd Allah b. ʿAbbas.
