حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْقُرَشِيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الزَّنْجِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ قَالَ
ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَمَّا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ فِي الشِّعْبِ أَتَى أَبِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَا أَرَى أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ إِلَّا قَدِ اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَى حَمْلٍ قَالَ «لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يُقِرَّ أَعْيُنَنَا مِنْهَا بِغُلَامٍ» فَأُتِيَ بِيَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَنَا فِي خِرْقَتِي فَحَنَّكَنِي قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا حُنِّكَ بِرِيقِ النُّبُوَّةِ غَيْرَهُ

✧ Ibn ʿAbbas said: When the Prophet ﷺ and his family were in the mountain pass, my father came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Muhammad, I think Umm al-Fadl has conceived.” He said, “Perhaps Allah will delight our eyes from her with a boy.” I was brought to the Prophet ﷺ while I was in my swaddling cloth, and he chewed and gave me from his mouth. Mujahid said, “We do not know anyone who was given tahnik with the saliva of prophethood other than him.”
