✧ I missed the Messenger of God ﷺ one night from his bed. I said: "He has gone to his slave-girl Māriyah." I got up and felt along the wall, and I found him standing praying. I put my hand into his hair to see whether he had performed a full ablution or not. When he finished, he said: "Your devil has taken hold of you, O ʿĀʾishah." I said: "Do I have a devil?" He said: "Yes, and all the children of Adam." I said: "And do you have a devil?" He said: "Yes, but God helped me against him, and he became Muslim."
