✧ Hearts are four: a smooth heart in which there is like a shining lamp, and that is the heart of the believer, and its lamp contains its light. A wrapped heart tied over its covering, and that is the heart of the disbeliever. An upside-down heart, and that is the heart of the hypocrite; he knew then he denied. A heart with a covering, and that is a heart in which there is faith and hypocrisy; the example of faith in it is like a herb that good water nourishes, and the example of hypocrisy is like a wound that pus and blood nourish; whichever of the two fluids overcomes its companion, it overcomes him.
