حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ الْفَدَكِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، عَنْ عَمَّهِ أَبِي عُفَيْرِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، قَدْ أَخْبَرَهُ
أَنَّ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ بْنَ نِيَارٍ ذَبَحَ ذَبِيحَةً بِسَحَرٍ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَلَيْسَتْ تِلْكَ الْأُضْحِيَّةَ، إِنَّمَا الْأُضْحِيَّةُ مَا ذُبِحَ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَاذْهَبْ فَضَحِّ "، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَجِدُ شَيْئًا لِلْأُضْحِيَّةِ، وَمَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا جَذَعٌ مِنَ الْمَعْزِ، قَالَ: " اذْهَبْ فَضَحِّ بِهَا، وَلَيْسَ فِيهَا رُخْصَةٌ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ ".

✧ Abu Burda b. Niyar slaughtered a sacrificial animal just before dawn. When he finished, he mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: 'Whoever slaughters before the prayer, that is not a sacrifice. The sacrifice is only what is slaughtered after the prayer. Go and offer a sacrifice.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I cannot find another animal for sacrifice; I have only a jadha' from goats.' He said: 'Go and sacrifice it, but there is no allowance in that for anyone after you.'
