✧ The Prophet ﷺ appointed a man from his companions over the alms. He came back and said when he brought it: This is for you and this is for me. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, so he addressed the people and said: What is the matter with me that I appoint one of you over things from what Allah has entrusted to me, and he comes back and says: This is for you and this was gifted to me? Would one of you sit in the house of his father and the house of his mother until he is given a gift? Then he said: Would one of you sit in the house of his father and the house of his mother until he is given a gift? Then he said: None of you should come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a camel on his back that grunts, or a cow that moos, or a sheep that bleats. Then he raised his hands to the sky and said: Have I not conveyed?
