✧ His brothers complained about him to the Messenger of God ﷺ, saying: "He squanders his wealth and is extravagant with it." The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "O Qays, what is the matter with your brothers complaining about you? They claim that you squander your wealth and are extravagant with it." I said: "O Messenger of God, I take my share of the fruits and spend it in the way of God and on those who accompany me." He said: "Then the Messenger of God ﷺ struck his chest and said: 'Spend, and God will spend on you' three times." After that, I went out in the way of God with a mount. He said: "I am the wealthiest and most prosperous of my household today."
