حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ: نَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، حِينَ تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا أَنْجَانِي اللهُ بِالصِّدْقِ، وَإِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي أَنْ لَا أُحَدِّثَ كَذِبًا، وَأَنْ أَنْخَلِعَ مِنْ مَالِي لِلهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ مَالِكَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ وَقَالَ كَعْبُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: " فَإِنِّي أُمْسِكُ سَهْمِي مِنْ خَيْبَرَ

✧ When Ka'b b. Malik repented and God accepted his repentance, he came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of God, God saved me only through truthfulness. Part of my repentance is that I will never speak a lie, and that I will divest myself of my wealth for God and His Messenger." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Keep some of your wealth; that is better for you." Ka'b b. Malik said: "Then I will keep my share from Khaybar."
