حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، ثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثَنَا الْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَلَاءِ بْنُ الشِّخِّيرِ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ:

لَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي، فَصَافَحَنِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنْ كُنْتُ أَحْسَبُ الْمُصَافَحَةَ إِلَّا فِي الْعَجَمِ. قَالَ: نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالْمُصَافَحَةِ مِنْهُمْ، مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ فَيَأْخُذُ أَحَدُهُمَا بِيَدِ صَاحِبِهِ بِمَوَدَّةٍ وَنَصِيحَةٍ إِلَّا أَلْقَى اللهُ ذُنُوبَهُمَا بَيْنَهُمَا

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me, took my hand, and shook it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I used to think that shaking hands was only for the non-Arabs." He said, "We are more entitled to shaking hands than they are. There are no two Muslims who meet and one of them takes the hand of his companion with love and sincerity except that Allah casts their sins down between them."
