حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
أَلَا إِنَّ الزَّهَادَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَيْسَ بِتَحْرِيمِ الْحَلَالِ، وَلَا إِضَاعَةِ الْمَالِ، وَلَكِنَّ الزَّهَادَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَلَّا تَكُونَ بِمَا فِي يَدَيْكَ أَوْثَقَ مِنْكَ بِمَا فِي يَدَيِ اللهِ، وَأَنْ تَكُونَ فِي ثَوَابِ الْمُصِيبَةِ إِذَا أُصِبْتَ بِهَا أَرْغَبَ مِنْكَ فِيهَا لَوْ أَنَّهَا بَقِيَتْ لَكَ

✧ Verily, asceticism in this world is not by prohibiting the lawful, nor by wasting wealth. But asceticism in this world is that you not be more confident in what is in your hands than in what is in Allah's hands, and that you be more desirous of the reward of the calamity when it befalls you than of it if it had remained with you.
