حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّائِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ:

بَعَثَ عَلِيٌّ رَجُلًا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْمَذْيِ، وَكَرِهَ أَنْ يَكُونَ هُوَ الَّذِي يَسْأَلُهُ لِمَكَانِ فَاطِمَةَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، الرَّجُلُ يَرَى الْمَرْأَةَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَيُمْذِي، أَعَلَيْهِ الْغُسْلُ ؟ فَقَالَ: تِلْكَ يَلْقَاهَا فُحُولَةُ الرِّجَالِ، يُجْزِئُكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ.

✧ Ali sent a man to the Messenger of God ﷺ to ask him about pre-seminal fluid, disliking to be the one asking because of Fatimah's position. He said: "O Messenger of God, a man sees a woman on the road and emits pre-seminal fluid; is a full bath required of him?" He said: "That is met by men's virility; ablution is sufficient for you for that."
