وَبِهِ: قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
خَلَقَ اللهُ الْخَلْقَ، وَقَضَى الْقَضِيَّةَ، وَأَخَذَ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَعَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ، فَأَخَذَ أَهْلَ الْإِيمَانِ بِيَمِينِهِ، وَأَخَذَ أَهْلَ الشَّقَاءِ بِيَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى، وَكِلْتَا يَدَيِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَمِينٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَهْلَ الْيَمِينِ، قَالُوا: لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ، قَالَ: أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، ثُمَّ خَلَطَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ مِنْهُمْ: رَبَّنَا، لِمَ خَلَطْتَ بَيْنَنَا ؟ فَقَالَ: وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَالٌ مِنْ دُونِ ذَلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أَشْرَكَ آبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ. فَخَلَقَ اللهُ الْخَلْقَ، وَقَضَى الْقَضِيَّةَ، وَأَخَذَ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَعَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ، فَأَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ أَهْلُهَا، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ أَهْلُهَا ". فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ فَقَالَ: " يَعْمَلُ كُلُّ قَوْمٍ لِمَا خُلِقُوا لَهُ، أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ " فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ أَعْمَالَنَا هَذِهِ أَشَيْءٌ نَبْتَدِعُهُ أَوْ شَيْءٌ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ: " عَلَى شَيْءٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ " قَالَ: فَالْآنَ نَجْتَهِدُ فِي الْعِبَادَةِ
Translation

- Rasūl Allāh ﷺ
✧ God created the creation, decreed the decree, and took the covenant of the prophets while His Throne was upon the water. He took the people of faith by His right hand, and He took the people of misery by His left hand, and both hands of the Most Merciful are right. He said: “O people of the right hand.” They said: “At Your service and obedience.” He said: “Am I not your Lord?” They said: “Yes.” Then He mixed them together, and one of them said: “Our Lord, why did You mix us together?” He said: “They have deeds other than that which they will do, so that you may not say on the Day of Resurrection, ‘We were unaware of this,’ or say, ‘It was only our fathers who associated partners before, and we were descendants after them.’” So God created the creation, decreed the decree, and took the covenant of the prophets while His Throne was upon the water. The people of Paradise are its people, and the people of Hell are its people. A man among the people said: “Then what is the point of deeds, O Messenger of God?” He said: “Every people works for what they were created for; the people of Paradise by the deeds of the people of Paradise, and the people of Hell by the deeds of the people of Hell.” ʿUmar b. al-Khattab said: “O Messenger of God, do you consider these deeds of ours something we initiate or something already decreed?” He said: “Something already decreed.” He said: “Then now we will strive in worship.”
