✧ There was among those before you a man who bought wine and mixed it, making some of it water. Then he went off with it and sold it and took dinars. He put them in a purse and boarded a ship, carrying with him a monkey. When they were at sea, the monkey took the purse, climbed up, and ascended until it sat on the top of the mast. Then it untied the purse and began throwing one dinar into the sea and one dinar into the ship until it had thrown all that was in the purse. The monkey did that because the man had cheated.
