✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ in a garden when a bird was brought to him. He said: 'O God, bring me the most beloved of Your creation to You to eat with me from this bird.' Then 'Ali came and knocked on the door. I said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'I am 'Ali.' I said: 'The Prophet ﷺ is occupied with something.' So he left. Then he came back and knocked on the door. I said: 'Who is that?' He said: 'I am 'Ali.' I said: 'The Prophet ﷺ is occupied with something.' Then he came and knocked on the door. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Go and open it.' The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'What kept you, may God have mercy on you?' He said: 'These are three returns; each time Anas told me that you were occupied with something.' He said: 'O Anas, what made you do that?' I said: 'I heard your supplication, so I wanted it to be a man from my people.'
