حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، أَنَّ الرُّبَيِّعَ بِنْتَ مُعَوِّذِ بْنِ عَفْرَاءَ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّ ثَابِتَ بْنَ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ ضَرَبَ امْرَأَتَهُ، فَكَسَرَ يَدَهَا، وَهِيَ: جَمِيلَةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ، فَأَتَى أَخُوهَا يَشْتَكِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: خُذِ الَّذِي لَهَا عَلَيْكَ، وَخَلِّ عَنْهَا قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تَرَبَّصَ حَيْضَةً وَاحِدَةً، وَتَلْحَقَ بِأَهْلِهَا

✧ Thabit b. Qays b. Shammas struck his wife and broke her hand. She was Jamila bt. Abdullah b. Ubayy b. Salul. Her brother came to complain to the Messenger of God ﷺ. The Messenger of God ﷺ sent for Thabit b. Qays and said: 'Take what she is owed from you and release her.' He said: 'Yes.' Then the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded her to wait for one menstrual period and return to her family.
