✧ He asked the Messenger of God ﷺ: 'Which part of the night is best for supplication?' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'The last part of the night.' Then he said: 'Pray as much as you wish until you pray the morning prayer, then stop until the sun rises, for it rises between the horns of Satan, and at that time the disbelievers prostrate to it. Then pray if you wish, until midday when you should stop, for Hell is stoked at that time. When the shadow declines, pray as much as you wish until you pray the afternoon prayer, then stop, for the sun sets between the horns of Satan, and at that time the disbelievers prostrate to it.' He said: I asked him about purification, and he said: 'When you rinse your mouth, you expel its sin. When you wash your hands, you wash away the sin of your hands, your nails, and your fingertips. When you wash your feet, you wash away your sin from the soles of your feet. When you pray and turn to God with your heart, it is an expiation, and if you sit, your reward is assured.'
