✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Aktham b. Abi al-Jawn al-Khuza'i, 'Go on military expeditions with people other than your own tribe, and your character will improve and you will be honored by your companions. O Aktham, the best number of companions is four, the best vanguard is forty, the best detachment is four hundred, and the best army is four thousand. Twelve thousand will never be defeated due to lack of numbers.'
