✧ One day I entered the market with the Messenger of God ﷺ. He sat by the cloth sellers and bought a pair of trousers for four dirhams. There was a weigher for the people of the market. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "Weigh and give more." The weigher said: "I have never heard this phrase from anyone." Abu Hurayrah said: "I said to him: 'It is enough of ignorance in your religion that you do not know your Prophet ﷺ.' So he threw down the scale and leaped to the hand of the Prophet ﷺ to kiss it. The Messenger of God ﷺ pulled his hand away from him and said: "This is what non-Arabs do to their kings. I am only a man from among you. Weigh and give more." Then the Messenger of God ﷺ took the trousers. Abu Hurayrah said: "I went to carry it for him, but he said: 'The owner of something has more right to carry it, unless he is weak and unable, in which case his Muslim brother helps him.'" I said: "O Messenger of God, do you really wear trousers?" He said: "Yes, by night and day, in travel and at home, for I have been commanded to cover myself, and I have not found anything that conceals better."
