✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us one morning and delivered a sermon that made the hearts tremble and the eyes shed tears. We said: O Messenger of Allah, you have admonished us with the admonition of one bidding farewell, so give us a covenant. He said: You must have taqwa of Allah, and hearing and obedience, even if an Abyssinian slave is placed over you. Those who remain after me will see great disagreement, so you must adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-guided, righteous caliphs. Cling to it with your molar teeth. And beware of newly introduced matters, for every bid'ah is misguidance.
