✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by him and called him, so he came out to him and walked with him until he reached the mosque. Then he left, performed ghusl, and returned. The Prophet ﷺ saw him and on him was the trace of ghusl. The Prophet ﷺ asked him about his ghusl. He said: 'I heard your call while I was having intercourse with my wife, so I got up before finishing and performed ghusl.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Water is only required from water.' Then after that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the circumcised part passes the circumcised part, ghusl becomes obligatory.'

machine translationThis, that is, al-Ḥāzimī's grading of it as good (ḥasan), is open to question, for in it is Rishdīn b. Saʿd, whom most people have declared weak (ḍaʿīf), and one of the sons of Rāfiʿ, who is unknown in identity and in condition (majhūl al-ʿayn wa-l-ḥāl). How can a hadith whose chain includes a weak narrator and an unknown one be good (ḥasan)?
in المعجم الأوسط, p. 6519 - Ibn Rajab
