حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، ثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ:
كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ حِينَ أَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ، فَأَصَبْتُ مَعَهُ أَوَاقِيَ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فَاطِمَةَ قَدْ نَضَحَتِ الْبَيْتَ بِنَضُوحٍ، فَتَخَطَّيْتُهُ، فَقَالَتْ: مَا لَكَ ؟ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ، فَأَحَلُّوا، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهَا: إِنِّي أَهْلَلْتُ بِإِهْلَالِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، قَالَ: " فَإِنِّي قَدْ سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ وَقَرَنْتُ "، وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: لَوْ أَنِّي اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا فَعَلْتُمْ، وَلَكِنِّي سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ، وَقَرَنْتُ "، فَقَالَ: " انْحَرْ مِنَ الْبُدْنِ سَبْعًا وَسِتِّينَ، أَوْ سِتًّا وَسِتِّينَ، وَأَمْسِكْ لِنَفْسِكَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، أَوْ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَأَمْسِكْ مِنْ كُلِّ بَدَنَةٍ بَضْعَةً ".

✧ I was with ʿAli when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed him over Yemen, and I acquired some ounces along with him. When he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "I found Fatimah had sprinkled the house with perfume, so I stepped over it." She said: "What is the matter with you? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has ordered his companions, and they have exited ihram." He said: "I said to her: 'I entered ihram with the same intention as the Prophet ﷺ.'" He said: "'I have driven the sacrificial animal and performed qiran.'" And he said to his companions: "'If I had known at the beginning of my affair what I know at its end, I would have done as you have done, but I have driven the sacrificial animal and performed qiran.'" Then he said: "'Slaughter sixty-seven or sixty-six of the camels, and keep for yourself thirty-three or thirty-four, and keep a piece from each camel.'"
