حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ، قَالَ: نَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نُسَمِّيهَا الْمَانِعَةَ، وَإِنَّهَا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سُورَةٌ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ فَقَدْ أَكْثَرَ وَأَطَابَ، يَعْنِي: تَبَارَكَ

✧ In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we used to call it the Protector, and indeed in the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, it is a surah. Whoever recites it every night has done much and done well—meaning: Tabarak.
