حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَنِيفَةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَمِّي، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبِي، قَالَ: ثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ السُّلَمِيِّ

أَنَّهُ: قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ: مَنْ أَبُونَا ؟ قَالَ: " آدَمُ قَالَ: مَنْ أُمُّنَا ؟ قَالَ: " حَوَّاءُ " قَالَ: مَنْ أَبُو الْجِنِّ ؟ قَالَ: " إِبْلِيسُ " قَالَ: فَمَنْ أُمُّهُمْ ؟ قَالَ: " امْرَأَتُهُ

✧ He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to ask you about a matter about which I will not ask anyone after you: Who is our father?" He said, "Adam." He said, "Who is our mother?" He said, "Eve." He said, "Who is the father of the jinn?" He said, "Iblis." He said, "Who is their mother?" He said, "His wife."
