حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ قَالَ: ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدًا أَسْوَدَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: مَرَّ بِي ابْنُ السَّبِيلِ وَأَنَا فِي مَاشِيَةٍ لِسَيِّدِي، أَفَأَسْقِي مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا ". قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أَرْمِي، فَأُصْمِي وَأُنْمِي قَالَ: كُلْ مَا أَصْمَيْتَ وَدَعْ مَا أَنْمَيْتَ

✧ A black slave came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'A wayfarer passed by me while I was tending the livestock of my master; may I give him milk from them without his permission?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'I shoot, and I hit the target and I hit but the game escapes.' He said: 'Eat what you hit and leave what escapes.'
