✧ The Prophet ﷺ did not see Jibril in his true form except twice. As for one time, he asked him to show him his true form, so he showed him, and he filled the horizon. As for the second, he was with him when he ascended, as in His saying: “Then he drew near and came down, and was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. And He revealed to His servant what He revealed.” When Jibril sensed his Lord, blessed and exalted, he returned to his true form. That is His saying: “And indeed he saw him another time, by the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, near which is the Garden of Refuge,” up to His saying: “He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.” He said: the creation of Jibril ﷺ.
