حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ قَالَ: نَا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ. عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِذَا عَمِلَتْ أُمَّتِي خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ خَصْلَةً، حَلَّ بِهَا الْبَلَاءُ ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا هِيَ ؟ قَالَ: " إِذَا كَانَ الْفَيْءُ دُوَلًا، وَالْأَمَانَةُ مَغْنَمًا، وَالزَّكَاةُ مَغْرَمًا، وَأَطَاعَ الرَّجُلُ زَوْجَتَهُ، وَعَقَّ أُمَّهُ، وَارْتَفَعَتِ الْأَصْوَاتُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ، وَبَرَّ الرَّجُلُ صَدِيقَهُ، وَجَفَا أَبَاهُ، وَأُكْرِمَ الرَّجُلُ مَخَافَةَ شَرِّهِ، وَكَانَ زَعِيمُ الْقَوْمِ أَرْذَلَهُمْ، وَاتُّخِذَتِ الْقِيَانُ، وَالْمَعَازِفُ، وَشَرِبُوا الْخُمُورَ، وَلَبِسُوا الْحَرِيرَ، فَانْتَظِرُوا مَسْخًا، وَخَسْفًا

Translation

✧ "When my Ummah does fifteen traits, affliction will befall them." They said: O Messenger of Allah, what are they? He said: "When the war booty is distributed among the powerful, the trust is treated as spoil, zakat is considered a fine, a man obeys his wife and is undutiful to his mother, voices are raised in the mosques, a man honors his friend and is harsh to his father, a man is honored out of fear of his evil, the leader of the people is the worst of them, singing girls and musical instruments are adopted, wine is drunk, and silk is worn. Then await metamorphosis, earthquakes, and sinking."
