حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
فِي الْخَوَارِجِ قَالَ: مَثَلُهُمْ مَثَلُ رَجُلٍ رَمَى بِرَمْيَةٍ، فَبَرِحَ السَّهْمُ حَيْثُ وَقَعَ، فَأَخَذَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى فُوقِهِ فَلَمْ يَرَ بِهِ دَسَمًا وَلَا دَمًا، ثُمَّ نَظَرَ إِلَى رَأْسِهِ فَلَمْ يَرَ بِهِ دَسَمًا وَلَا دَمًا، فَلَمَّا لَمْ يَتَعَلَّقْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الدَّسَمِ وَلَا الدَّمِ، كَذَلِكَ لَمْ يَتَعَلَّقْ هَؤُلَاءِ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ

✧ Regarding the Kharijites, he said: Their example is like a man who shot an arrow and it sped away until it fell. He took it and looked at its notch but saw no grease or blood. Then he looked at its tip but saw no grease or blood. When it carried nothing of grease or blood, likewise these people carry nothing of Islam.
