حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ قَالَ: نَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ: نَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:

مَا تَضَوَّرْتُ مِنْ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ إِلَّا سَمِعْتُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ صَوْتًا، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، تِلْكَ الْحَوْلَاءُ بِنْتُ تُوَيْتٍ، لَا تَنَامُ إِذَا نَامَ النَّاسُ، فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا قُلْتُ، حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا

✧ I did not toss and turn during this night except that I heard a voice in the mosque. I said: O Messenger of Allah, that is al-Hawlaʾ bt. Tuwayt; she does not sleep when people sleep. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked what I said, until I saw that in his face. Then he said: “Allah does not grow weary until you grow weary.”
