حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ قَالَ: نَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: نَا الْحَسَنُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:
أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أَشْتَهِي الْجِهَادَ، وَإِنِّي لَا أَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: هَلْ بَقِيَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ وَالِدَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ: أُمِّي. قَالَ: " فَأَبْلِ اللهَ عُذْرًا فِي بِرِّهَا، فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ فَأَنْتَ حَاجٌّ وَمُعْتَمِرٌ وَمُجَاهِدٌ، إِذَا رَضِيَتْ عَنْكَ أُمُّكَ، فَاتَّقِ اللهَ وَبَرَّهَا
Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "I long for jihad, but I am unable to do it." He said: "Are either of your parents still alive?" He said: "My mother." He said: "Then strive to please God in being dutiful to her. If you do that, you will be a pilgrim, a performer of ʿumrah, and a mujāhid — if your mother is pleased with you. So fear God and be dutiful to her."
