حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
أُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ دَيْنٌ ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ "، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: هُوَ عَلَيَّ، فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ، ﷺ

✧ A funeral was brought, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Does your companion owe a debt?" They said: "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Pray over your companion." A man said: "It is upon me." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed over him.
