حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا الْمِسْوَرُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: نَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ يَاسِينَ الزَّيَّاتِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مِنْ مَعَادِنِ التَّقْوَى تَعَلُّمُكَ إِلَى مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمْ، وَالتَّقْصِيرُ فِيمَا قَدْ عَلِمْتَ قِلَّةُ الزِّيَادَةِ فِيهِ، وَإِنَّمَا يُزْهِدُ الرَّجُلَ فِي عِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ قِلَّةُ الِانْتِفَاعِ بِمَا قَدْ عَلِمَ

✧ Among the sources of piety is your learning what you do not know from what you already know, and falling short in what you already know is a lack of increase in it. Indeed, a man is only made indifferent to knowledge of what he does not know by the little benefit he gains from what he already knows.
