حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ: نَا كَهْمَسٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى ؟ قَالَتْ: لَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِيءَ مِنْ مَغِيبِهِ "، قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ يُصَلِّي جَالِسًا ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، بَعْدَمَا حَطَمَهُ النَّاسُ، قُلْتُ: أَفَكَانَ يَقْرِنُ السُّوَرَ ؟ قَالَتِ: الْمُفَصَّلَ، قُلْتُ: أَفَكَانَ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا كُلَّهُ ؟ قَالَتْ: مَا عَلِمْتُهُ صَامَ شَهْرًا كُلَّهُ إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ، وَلَا أَفْطَرَ شَهْرًا كُلَّهُ حَتَّى يُصِيبَ مِنْهُ غَيْرَ رَمَضَانَ

Translation

✧ I said to 'A'ishah: 'Did the Messenger of God ﷺ pray the Duha prayer?' She said: 'No, except when he returned from a journey.' I said: 'Did he pray sitting?' She said: 'Yes, after the people had worn him down (with age).' I said: 'Did he join the surahs (in prayer)?' She said: 'The Mufassal (the shorter surahs).' I said: 'Did he fast an entire month?' She said: 'I do not know that he fasted an entire month except Ramadan, nor did he break his fast for an entire month such that he would not fast some of it, other than Ramadan.'
