✧ A man came to Abu Musa and said: "A man died and left his daughter, his son's daughter, and a sister." He said: "The daughter gets half, the sister gets half, and Ibn Mas'ud will come to you and say the same thing." So I went to Ibn Mas'ud and said: "Abu Musa told me such and such." Ibn Mas'ud said: "I would then be astray and not among the guided: the daughter gets half, the son's daughter gets the completion, and the sister gets a third. This is how the Messenger of God ﷺ ordained it."
