✧ Friday was presented to the Messenger of God ﷺ. Gabriel came with in his palm something like a white mirror, in the middle of which was like a black dot. He said: “What is this, O Gabriel?” He said: “This is Friday. Your Lord presents it to you so that it may be a festival for you and for your people after you. In it there is good for you: you will be the first, and the Jews and Christians will come after you. In it there is an hour in which no one asks his Lord for good that is allotted for him except that He gives it to him, or seeks refuge from evil except that He wards off from him what is greater than it. We call it in the Hereafter the Day of Increase. That is because your Lord has taken in Paradise a wide valley of white musk. When it is Friday, He descends from ‘Illiyyin and sits on His throne, and the throne is surrounded by pulpits of gold studded with jewels. The truthful and the martyrs come and sit on them, and the people of the chambers come from their chambers until they sit on the dune, a white dune of fragrant musk. Then He manifests Himself to them and says: 'I am the One who fulfilled My promise to you and completed My favor upon you. This is the place of My honor, so ask of Me.' They ask Him for His good pleasure. He says: 'My good pleasure has brought you into My abode and granted you My honor, so ask of Me.' They ask Him for His good pleasure, and He bears witness to them that He is pleased with them. Then He opens for them what no eye has seen and no human heart has conceived, until the time of their departure from Friday. It is a green emerald or a red ruby, with its rivers flowing through it and its fruits hanging down, containing their spouses and servants. They are not more eager for anything in Paradise than for Friday, so that they may increase in looking upon their Lord, Mighty and Majestic, and His honor. For that reason it is called the Day of Increase.”
