حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي قُرَّةَ مُوسَى بْنِ طَارِقٍ: أَذَكَرَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ. عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى يَوْمًا، وَعَلَيْهِ نَمِرَةٌ، فَقَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ: أَعْطِنِي نَمِرَتَكَ، وَخُذْ نَمِرَتِي فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَمِرَتُكَ أَجْوَدُ مِنْ نَمِرَتِي. قَالَ: " أَجَلْ، وَلَكِنْ فِيهَا خَيْطٌ أَحْمَرُ، فَخَشِيتُ أَنْ أَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهَا، فَتَفْتِنَنِي " وَأَقَرَّ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed one day wearing a striped cloak (namirah). He said to a man among his companions: 'Give me your striped cloak and take my striped cloak.' The man said: 'O Messenger of God, your striped cloak is better than my striped cloak.' He said: 'Yes, but there is a red thread in it, and I feared that I might look at it and it would tempt me.' And he confirmed it. He said: 'Yes.'
