✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed through some streets of Madinah and saw a dead black man whom they had thrown onto the road. He asked some of those present about him, saying, "Whose slave is this?" They said, "A slave belonging to the family of so-and-so." He said, "Did you use to see him praying?" They said, "We would sometimes see him praying and sometimes not praying." He said, "Get up and wash him and shroud him." So they got up, washed him, and shrouded him, and the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up and prayed over him. When he said the takbir, he said, "Glory be to God, glory be to God." When the Messenger of God ﷺ finished his prayer, his companions said to him, "O Messenger of God, we heard you say whenever you said the takbir: 'Glory be to God, glory be to God.' Why did you say 'Glory be to God, glory be to God'?" He said, "The angels almost came between me and him because of the great number of their prayers over him."
